One day at a time and focussing on positive aspects of life are useful strategies. May your condition improve steadily with the yoga - being able to do yoga is awesome, Stefanie! They really allow me to use more of my upper body to compensate. I got them for pretty cheap on Amazon! I know what you mean about lamenting what is lost. I'm not sure that ever gets easier honestly but I guess we just take it day by day. Wishing you all the best Jodie :)Stefani Sheahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08910011148626052717noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9220835700586365061.post-40438104370661547432016-03-10T18:54:53.367-08:002016-03-10T18:54:53.367-08:00Thank you April! Glad to see the b...Well, you got through February! Glad to see the back of that one, hey? The use of hiking poles is a new idea for me - I had never thought of it before until I saw a colleague in my hydrotherapy class use them. Congrats on your achievement in making it down the street. Do you have hubby with you to 'catch' you when your body decides its had enough? Interesting that you say your legs are more of an issue than your upper body - my legs are usually first muscles to be affected too when my mixed connective tissue disease plays the weakness card. I can so relate to the wanting to do stuff and then overdoing it. It is a hard lesson to learn and only today I was lamenting to my family how deep down I feel sad and frustrated to be living in a body that has never really supported the activities that I enjoyed doing like sports etc. but "one cannot control the cards one is dealt, only how they are played" (I wish I could remember the original speaker of this quote) and as long as we play to our best ability with what we have, there is satisfaction to be found. You have great friends and a regular game session is something to happily anticipate and cherish. Keep up with the exercises. You don't need to 'push', just 'do' and over time, you will reap the benefit.<br />Cheers!Jodiebodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11377052537742885631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9220835700586365061.post-9220924661537780072016-03-03T02:11:37.959-08:002016-03-03T02:11:37.959-08:00Love you, Stefanie.
